Your locker is the closest piece of home that you can have while you’re in the gym. This is where you can store what you can bring when you work out to make your gym experience convenient and comfortable. Basically, what you put in your gym bag goes in the locker for safekeeping.

You don’t want a cramped gym locker or for your items to fall off when you open the locker door and make a scene in the locker room. Therefore, it’s best to plan ahead and make sure to bring only the gym essentials.

 

Gym Bag

To transport your workout essential items from home to the gym, you need a reliable bag that can also serve as an extra compartment for your locker. Choose a bag with a feature that can compartmentalize your essentials. The great thing about compartmentalizing your stuff is you get to separate wet or dirty workout clothes from the clean and dry ones. It will also help you to easily find and get the item that you need if they are organized in compartments or in pockets.

Pouch

Travel size Zip pouches are a great gym essentials organizer. It prevents your products from being scattered around your gym bag. It will save you time from rummaging your bag and your locker for your shower stuff.

Shower Shoes or Flip Flops

Don’t be caught barefoot in the shower area and in the locker room. This warm and wet environment part of the gym is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria and germs. Avoid skin contact with the floor surface by wearing a pair of footgear while you shower and change in the locker room. Stepping barefoot on a communal shower could put you at risk for other nasty fungal infections besides the athlete’s foot.

If you’re in a hurry and a quick shower is ideal for you, pack a bottle of an all-over wash not only saves you space on your locker and gym bag but it’s a great way to reduce showering time with just one product to use from hair to toe.

But if you prefer using different products for each part of your body you can use travel-size containers for each product to avoid taking up too much space in your bag and locker. It would also make it easier for you to carry these items from your locker to your shower and back.

Deodorant

When you sweat, your body produces an odor that can be managed by washing your body with water and skin cleansing products. But to ensure you stay fresh-smelling throughout the day despite being sweaty applying deodorant is a must. Having this in your locker could be an odor saver.

Hair Styling Products

You would still want to look your best after a rigorous workout session at the gym. So, never forget to pack your favorite hair styling items such as your comb, bobby pins, hair tie, and hair gel. Also, don’t forget to bring extra as some of these items can get lost easily.

Clothes

Pack fresh and dry clothes to replace your sweaty workout clothes after your shower. Ideally, you should pack light. A pair of underwear, a light top, and light bottom clothing to make sure you would not be carrying too much weight on your bag.

Towel

Some gyms provide a clean towel for you to use. However, these towels aren’t new ones – just newly washed. Other gym-goers have used it before and will be used again. So, if you prefer a towel that only touched your skin, bring a couple of clean ones. One to wipe sweat and one to use after showering.

Lock

If you want to feel that your valuables are safe in the locker room you should bring your own padlock so that you alone can access your locker and the items in it. That way you are assured that your stuff are all there when you go back from your workout. Of course, gym facilities do their best to make sure your belongings are safe, but for extra security a padlock of your own to prevent theft.

Personal Care Kit

What’s inside your kit depends on your personal care routine. Here are some of the items that can be packed in your care kit:

  • Shaving cream
  • Razor
  • powder
  • feminine products such as tampons or pads
  • Foot spray to prevent athlete’s foot
